Promises Made, Promises Kept

DELIVERING FOR LOCAL 46

When you look back at the last three years, it is clear that our Local has faced unprecedented challenges. But through it all, Business Manager Sean Bagsby hasn't just talked about making changes, he has consistently delivered tangible results, working with  the membership. Sean knows that a strong union is built on action, and that true leadership requires the experience to take on the tough, sometimes unpopular fights and win.

Here is a look at exactly how Sean’s administration has kept the positive momentum going and delivered for ALL units and classifications:

⚡️ Creating Jobs RIGHT NOW: Through the ambitious 1,000 Jobs Plan, Sean spearheaded the effort to leverage our union's political power to secure massive new construction funding. Recently, this resulted in 48millionfor Seattle libraries and a $45 million commitment for a new electrical system at the University of Washington. These victories are putting both Inside Wire and Limited Energy members to work today on projects that make our region safer and better, both socially and economically.

⚡️ Historic Contract Victories: When NECA pushed back, Sean’s administration stood firm. He stood shoulder-to-shoulder with the Limited Energy unit during their historic strike—the first since WWII—securing a massive $12.50 an hour raise and the highest voter turnout in unit history. Beyond the strike, he has secured record-breaking pay increases and strong contract language across the Wireman, Low Voltage, and Stockman contracts.

⚡️ Stronger Benefits for Your Future: A strong union means a secure retirement and reliable healthcare. Sean's administration successfully negotiated increased bankable hours for healthcare and a higher pension multiplier, ensuring you can retire with the dignity you have earned.

⚡️ Unmatched Representation & Transparency: To ensure your voice is always heard, Sean doubled the staff handling grievances and drastically increased job site visits by reps. He also committed to total transparency by instituting weekly videos, monthly town halls, and annual budget presentations so you always know where your union stands.

⚡️ Upgraded Family Support Services: Recognizing that our members sometimes need extra help, Sean’s administration revamped the Local 46 "Food Bank" into comprehensive Family Support Services (FSS). This provides essential food, toiletries, hygiene products, and child items for members in need. Additionally, he ensured members have access to an in-house Union Counselor and Employee Assistance Program (EAP) to support mental health and our most vulnerable members. In order to be family, we must act like family!

⚡️ Unprecedented Political Power: By coordinating closely with Governmental Affairs, Sean’s administration achieved a record number of local election victories. This political leverage is exactly what protects our work, secures Project Labor Agreements (PLAs), and defends the middle class across King, Kitsap, Jefferson, and Clallam counties.
